Wednesday Morning
Four Middle sized lugs
Count is now 101.
Actually we hit 100 some 30 models ago but i can only show models on this website that don't infringe company intellectual property.
We are proud to say that one single Gekko sheet can easily make 100 models, if treat with care. there is no significant signs of any wear on the surface and we will now work towards 200 form the same sheet.
Our original estimation of sending 4 sheets of material per auction seems to be pessimistic at best. There is a chance they may outlast the machine.

Friday on the now clean but original sheet.
The first print was word perfect, this same print failed on thursday night. The back one lifted.
And the sheet after you can still see the scratches from head height setting over the weeks.
Count Now 85.
Friday Acetone Wash.
One of my customers asked about cleaning the Gekko sheet with Acetone, which worried me, so after saying don't I decided to experiment.
I worried that the acetone would attack the gekko surface and in fact it does. We took an unused sheet and poured a pool on the middle then left it for 20 seconds. It did in fact attack the sheet and left a very rough texture this may or may not improve adhesion but since this is not a problem with the Gekko sheet it did seem an unnecessary risk. However we will return to this when the current gekko sheet is past usable the model count at this point being in the 80's.
Having had a model come loose laqte thurdsay (I think i rubbed my fingers on the back) (Oily engineer)
I did feel it was worth trying an acetone wipe on the active sheet and the picture above is the result.
With a quick wipe with acetone on kitchen roll, it makes the sheet shiny, a little like the Zamboni on an ice rink.
How this effected prints will become apparent. As we continue the experiment.

Back from the Wedding. Tuesday.
Wow it seems like forever sine i last printed anything.
Family weddings though are a must attend.
So last thing before i went i noticed a small bump in the middle of the Gekko board and worried it might cause the raft not to be the right thickness.
So i cut some paper to the size of the board and used that as a shield placed the Gekko under the actual shield and added some weight.
The "Gekko Iron"
Then a let the table heat up for the one hour and cool down.
The next print was flat again.
Count is 76.

Wednesday early morning Lights out machining.
Wednesday early morning Lights out machining.
Wow this was un-expected arrived back and the print wasn't finished.
Still stuck down on both sides.
It turned out to be a blocked nozzle. So i imaging there was some dirt either in the platic or on the plastic, (It could be my fault i re-reeled this pink stuff in my workshop when the original reel was shattered in the post not thinking of dirt). The answer was acetone fortunately I had some in the workshop I would suggest getting some it's about £10 per litre on Ebay. I let it soak for about 3 hours then using a single strand from some electrical wire (.7mm) multi strand so each strand is .1mm I managed to wash the blockage out.
I also moved the reel on to a piece of nylon rod screwed to the shelf that will take any size of reel.
Count Stands.
